Electric Dreams Online

When we need to apart but we want to be together, technology provides a solution.

With the closure of cinemas, theatres and art galleries, and the cancellation of concerts and festivals, we long to find new ways to socialise together and connect across distance.

While people are starting to report Zoom fatigue, some talented artists and performers are starting to develop imaginative ways to connect to their audience.

In order to showcase amazing artists during and to provide the public with innovative social experiences we are creating Electric Dreams Online - a public-facing festival of creative immersive work designed to work online and a conference which will address the challenges we are now facing in order to discover what solutions we might come up with.

The public will be able to choose from a range of different works, some for individuals and some for groups. They could be multiplayer audio experiences, live online immersive theatre experiences, live multiplayer VR experiences where you interact with an actor, documentaries in which you participate live via social platforms, or participatory games.

The conference will run for two hours a day over three days and will focus on the significant issues concerning the future of immersive technologies in the post-Covid19 world.

Electric Dreams Online is currently seeking artists, creators and performers of all kinds who are using the internet to connect people in amazing ways to take part in a festival of storytelling in cyberspace.

Electric Dreams will take place in the cloud, and across various platforms and devices, from 24 July to 16 August. Selected shows will be ticketed with revenue shared; they will be live and social, or designed for the present times. They will make clever use of technology to bring magic to our lives when we cant attend festivals or go to shows.
